Ready, Set, Go!

I wish I had taken my camera with me tonight. Cael and I went with Steve to sound practice at church. Emily and Katie were having a meeting for VBS so we ended up hanging out with them. Before the night was over our friend Lindsey showed up with her two boys. So we had one big play date and boy did we have fun! I had all the kids line up at the end of the hallway and run to me. The rules were simple, the first one to give me hug was the winner. Each race, and there had to have been about 15 of them, ended the same way. Simon, Cael, Wesley, Audrey, Elliot, in that order...and all on top of me. And Owen was right there in the middle of it.

Instead of a picture I will send you to Emily's site to watch a video of our kiddo's racing through the church hallways.

I love our friends....and their kids!

We Love Tents!

Just another Tuesday night at the Miller house. We love Tuesday's because Steve doesn't have to tutor and he is home around 4:30. We also love any sort of tent! I would really love this, or even this one. But holy smokes, do you see how much they cost? And those are two of the cheaper ones. We need to find someone to make these at at much more affordable price!

This Is For You Abby!

Things have been crazy around here. Steve woke up last weekend with and ear ache and ended up having blood blisters on his ear drum. Yuck! So sorry for my lack of activity here, it's nice to be back!

Saturday I went to watch Abby compete in a board breaking tournament. Let me tell you....she is a beast! It was the worst building ever to take pictures in. White walls, fluorescent lights and a ton of windows behind Abby. So ignore the quality of pictures and enjoy seeing her do her thing!

She was going against another girl and they each started off with 3 boards. Check out Tara and Alyssa standing against the wall.

It wasn't long before they were adding boards.

Check out all those broken boards!

Both girls kept breaking 7 boards and tieing. They went up to 9 boards and again the girls both broke 7 boards...twice.

Check out that air she got!

The ended up declaring it a tie and both girls received 1st place.

Abby, and her opponent Grace, were for sure the most entertaining round of the entire tournament!

Abby - it was so much fun watching you do what you love. I am so proud of you and love your determination! Keep it up..next time we're going for 10 boards! LOVE YOU!

Ouch!

It's been another long day. We found out that Steve has blood blisters on his ear drum. Ouch! He is in so much pain! We have a friends who is an ENT P.A. who came over today to check Steve out. I am so thankful for people like Mollie who are in our lives and are willing to help us out! She took time out of her day to come over here and we so very grateful.

The Southards offered to take Cael for the day so that Steve and I were able to have a little break. Between potty training, taking care of a sick husband, and life in general, things have been kind of overwhelming lately. So to have friends who saw I needed a break and offered to take Cael is SO appreciated!! I love that I have people in my life who look after us. God has blessed us so much with our friends!

Steve is taking tomorrow off of work and I am going to sub for him. Grades are due Tuesday so there are things that he had to get done tomorrow. Who better to do those things than me!!??

I'm off to bed, because when my alarm goes off at 7:00am tomorrow it's really going to be 6:00am. Yes..this is the way my brain works for at least a week after the time changes.

It's A Bullet Point Kind Of Day

Ugh. I want today to be over...and fast! Here is a run down of my day :

  • Woke up 7 am to go to a big garage sale. So not worth it. Sorry it that offends anyone reading this, but for what I was looking for it was a wast of time and my $2 entry fee.
  • Cael woke up dry and refused to pee all morning. There were lots of tears shed over the potty today. Some of them might not have all been from the 3 year old.
  • Steve woke up at 3 am with a ear ache. He went to Prompt Care and came back with medicine for an ear infection. He is so sick!
  • Cael finally decided to pee at 11:30. That means he went 13 hours holing it. Can we say stubborn?
  • Wanna know how much someone can pee after holding it for 13 hours? He forgot to aim and peed all over the wall, the floor, himself and me. And I cheered him on the entire time.
  • Cael had two accidents right after he peed in the potty. Seriously??
  • Cael peed one more time in the potty before his nap.
  • We meet some friends tonight who are in town for a wrestling tournament. Steve was so sick he could hardly sit up straight. Until he threw up, that helped for a little while.
  • I didn't dare attempt to put Cael in underwear while we were out. He went to bed without peeing in the potty.
  • Cael just came downstairs to tell me that he pooped. Fabulous.
  • Steve is snoring so loud on the couch that I can't hear the t.v.
  • I lose an hour of sleep tonight.
  • Ugh

A Hole In One and Number One. Both Exciting!

**Gesh. I posted this yesterday but on the wrong blog.**

I do have a potty update, but something much more exciting happened today. This is going to be a long post so strap in and hang on. Or click that back arrow in the upper right hand corner of your screen, I promise, you won't hurt my feelings. But not until you read the first part of my post.

No I wasn't there, and no I didn't take any of the pictures. But it's still very exciting! My Dad got a hole in one today playing golf with Tim. A HOLE IN ONE!! Here are the stats for any golf players out there. Hole number 17, Par 3, 147 yards with an 8 iron played down hill.

Here is the hole where the magic happened.

Dad has gotten two hole in ones in his entire life. His first one was with his dad, the second was with his son. He said it couldn't have been more perfect! Maybe his next one will be with a grandson! :)

While Dad was taking a nap Tim ran out and got this plaque for Dad. He emailed me the above pictures from his phone and I sent them to Walgreen's to get printed. The plaque has the pictures, the score card and the ball dad shot with. Great idea Tim!

Congratulations Dad!! I know how exciting it was for you!

Now on to the potty training. Today started good, got very frustrating as the day went on but looks like we are going to end on a high note.

Cael woke up dry and we headed straight for the potty. He sat there for a hour, yes my friends I said an hour. Diego kept us busy for part of the time and then we read and sang some songs. He ended up having a TBE, so that was exciting!

He had an accident around 11:30. We were playing and he told me he had peed so we ran to the bathroom. There was a very small amount on the ground and kept telling me "I stopped my pee". I was very proud of him for stopping when he realized what was happening. The only problem was he wouldn't go again. I really didn't want to head into nap time without him going again but he just refused. I just knew we would wake up from nap time with a diaper full of pee and poop! To my surprise there was very little pee and no poop.

During the afternoon I tried and tried to get him to pee in the potty but he was having none of it. He sat and sat on the potty but never did anything. Steve came home and he tried a few times to get him to go, no luck. I was prepared (and pretty grumpy about it) for an accident to happen any time. We at dinner and started watching Toy Story 3. Half way in we took a potty break that was going to include some ice cream. Cael got on the potty and soon after Steve's phone started ringing. When I came back Cael said "Mom, I peeing". Sure enough, he was letting it all lose. We had another FBE!!! So exciting!

So for today we had two successes and one accident. Not to shabby if you ask me. I still think he should be going more than twice a day, but I will take what I can get for now. We are for sure seeing progress!

Now, if we can get some poop in the potty. I am going to be SO tempted to take a picture of it.

p.s. Thank you husband for giving my post a title
